Leaving Teaching Behind
Dominique Waters started Ziva Naseer in Abu Dhabi. After teaching for several years, she decided to move away from education and finally pursue her lifelong dream of creating high-end fashion items. She began modeling and building relationships with new and experienced creatives all over the world. Soon she found a team of craftsmen who could help start her on the process of creating a fashion brand.
The Importance of Mentorship
Dominique was determined to make Ziva Naseer a success and knew finding a mentor would be intricate. She worked tirelessly to create products that met the highest standards of craftsmanship, quality, and design. Her fashion mentor and creative community helped her reimagine traditional mosaic techniques and modern methods for creating unique handbags. On her own, Dominique began to refurbish vintage mosaic handbags and Ziva Naseer was born.
Fashion Show Experience
With her mentor’s guidance and expertise, Dominique was able to create an impressive line of handbags. She then took part in a fashion show in Abu Dhabi that showcased Ziva Naseer’s designs and earned her the attention of many peers in the fashion industry. With the reaction of the crowd and the models she knew then that her dream was within reach.
Moving Back to the United States With Newfound Knowledge
In October of 2021, Dominique moved Ziva Naseer to the United States and was now ready to share her vision for luxurious, wearable art with the world. Ziva Naseer handbags are now available online for all to purchase, and we look forward to continuing to make statements and turn heads with our products.
